Alain de Botton is a Swiss-born British philosopher and author. He co-founded The School of Life in 2008 and Living Architecture in 2009. He published Essays in Love (1993), which went on to sell two million copies.
The key to pursuing excellence is to embrace an organic, long-term learning process, and not to live in a shell of static, safe mediocrity. Usually, growth comes at the expense of previous comfort or safety.
