Good Books is constantly looking for fresh writers. We want to hear from you if you can write anything witty, humorous, intriguing, or provocative about books in 800 to 1,200 words. Although we sometimes publish essays that are shorter or longer.
While all book related topics will be considered, we’re especially in need of non-fiction writers. Please send us one writing sample for consideration. Your sample should be something you think could go up on Good Books just as it is and is original content that has not been posted anywhere else on the internet. You can submit by filling out the below form or by attaching your work as a pdf and sending it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please do not send typical interviews, or links to Goodreads, LibraryThing, Amazon, or other similar sites. Please do not send us image-heavy articles; we want to get a sense of your voice and writing style. Please do not submit writing samples that are unrelated to books or reading.
The Good Books contributor program is an unpaid position to increase the reach of your writing, gain applicable experience and get access to mentorship in the editorial industry.
Once onboarded, contributors are expected to submit a minimum of one post for publication in each calendar month. There are no set writing topics but we are in need of non-fiction writers.
Please note that due to the high volume of applications we receive, we cannot respond to each one. We’re currently accepting applicants on a rolling basis. If you are accepted, you’ll hear back within 3-5 business days of submitting your application.
So, what are you waiting for, send us a note!
